The challenge
A large fire caused major damage to the Waste Transfer station in Dewsbury. However to maintain the normal operations for the household recycling centre in adjacent buildings the insurance company, along with site owners needed a contractor who was able to respond quickly and had the ability to reinstate the building whilst the site remained operational.
The Suez site is open 7 days per week and therefore the challenge was to work quickly and safely and to minimise the interference with day to day functions.
The solution
A key factor in the successful completion of this project was the ability of our team to work closely with Suez Site Management, particularly important was the Health and Safety Management and on site traffic control as the household waste and recycling centre, in adjacent buildings, was fully operational at all times and is visited by members of the public throughout the day. Adamco’s experience in Health and Safety and Site Management in difficult high traffic situations was essential in keeping the project on time and ultimately accident free.
